Art Contest Winners

In celebration of the International Dark Sky Week, the Blanco County Friends of the Night Sky (BCFNS) conducted its First Annual Night Sky Art Contest. Eighty entries were received from the Blanco and Johnson City Middle Schools. On April 2, 2019, the winners were announce at Gem of the Hills Activity Center. “The kids did a great job capturing the theme of the contest — Celebrating and Preserving the Night Sky,“ said Wayne Gosnell, president of BCFNS. The quality of the art was so good the judges had a hard time narrowing the winners down to three. In the end, they selected seven winners. The winning entries are presented below.
